‘Snatches: Moments from Women’s Lives’
1 x 60″, BBC Studios for BBC Four
Snatches was a series of eight short drama monologues exploring the experiences of women since 1918, curated by Vicky Featherstone, Artistic Director of the Royal Court Theatre. I was the project’s historical researcher, responsible for conducting, compiling and presenting research for use by the project’s scriptwriters, including newspaper articles, images, archive footage and early-mid 20th century documentaries. My research was published as an introductory chapter in a book of scripts accompanying the series.
Vicky mentioned my input in an interview about the series:
”We had a fantastic researcher, Sam Brown, who came up with a timeline of moments in women’s history, political and social, from the last 100 years. The writers responded to subjects they connected with and picked an area which became their story”.
